Opening Ceremony of the Staff Professional Development Refresher Training Couse held Nay Pyi Taw, March 3

The opening ceremony of the Staff Professional Developmrnt Refresher Training Course was held this morning at the Financial Regulatory Department, Office No. (34) in Nay Pyi Taw.

          The opening ceremony was attended by Dr. Kan Zaw, Union Minister for Finance and Revenue, Daw Than Than Lin and U Han Win Aung, Deputy Ministers for Finance and Revenue, Heads of Departments, invited guests, trainers and trainees.

          At the ceremony, Union Minister Dr. Kan Zaw highlighted that the course will help staff better understand the economic objectives of the country and policies, reform processes, and future plans of the Ministry of Finance and Revenue, and enhance their capacity in their workplaces. Moreover, he also highlighted that the course will also provide the staff for better understanding and expertise civil service law, rules, financial procedures and the responsibilities of the department such as supervising and inspecting microfinance companies, supervising private insurance companies, and implementing ati-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing programs, supervising state lottery industry and state-owned banks.

          The Union Minister encouraged the staff that it is right thing to seek education at the younger age in line with the motto of the National Defense and Security Counvil: “ Let’s encourage production for prosperity of the nation, Let’s ensure education sector for the development of the nation, and Let’s protect our environment for the prosperity of the nation”.

          He guided that in civil service, it is necessary for staff to strive to broaden their thinking by reading more books rather than their routine works so that the staffs can develop professional skills to be on par with international standards.  

It is learnt that (38) staffs from the Financial Regulatory Department will attend the course and it will last four weeks.
